Ok.....finally got my aux input installed and hooked up the phone. Surprise, no sound. Checked the aux volume number and put it on 5. Still no sound.

Hmmm.........bad cable? Nope, just really low/shitty output from the phone. Have to turn up the HU to 11 just to get it loud enough to enjoy

    Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe all those ringing sleigh bells caused permanent high-pitched sensorineural hearing loss?

    Frikkin' clown college around here...........:p

Yea, phone volume is turned up and I can listen to the tunes no problem with ear phones.

Maybe I should check and see if there is a way to increase the sound level of the mp3's and reload them........

something just doesn't sound right here. If you can get a good enough signal out for headphones, then the aux should work.

Is the iPhone in a case or bumper? Is the audio cable plugging in completely?

Do you have another car with aux in that you can test it on, and another cable, to completely eliminate both those as the culprit?
Do you have another iphone (or a friend with one) who can plug it in to your aux in with the same cable, to test?

    What generation / model iPhone?

This. Make sure the cable is seated all the way in.

    :p:p:p

The volume from the ear phones is loud enough for me, but the level may not be enough for the car.......
I am using the oem aux input with the radio set to 5 and the cable is fully seated in the plug, both ends in fact. :D

So just a single cable with a headphone jack on both ends? That sounds like a grounding issue then. The cable I linked above should fix that.

 HEY LOOK! I ACTUALLY TRIED TO HELP!

How high do you turn up the volume on the phone? What phone is it? From what you've said, I'd say it is a bad cable.

Try another device in the aux/in. Mine is set to 3 and is plenty loud.
