So I just got a new battery. The problem is it does not have a place to hook up the vent line. It has two vents in the battery but it will be venting into the passenger compartment. Does anyone know if this is correct? I thought it had to vent to the outside.
    Thanks

It is supposed to vent to the outside. That being said, I didn't hook up the vent line when I bought a new battery 2+ years ago. Obviously, I'm not dead.

Ok thanks. But are you sure your not dead? You could be stuck in Mini hell where people walk on your Mini, you fix it and they walk on it agin.
    Just saying :D

I put an AGM battery (Optima red top) in my MINI & didn't hook up a vent tube. Worst case scenario it goes bang, it is way back there & isn't going to hurt you a bit. It will leave quite the mess to clean though.
