Hey gang..... I am still trying to figure out my new MINI. What I noticed is there is a phone symbol on the left side of the steering wheel. Is this for Bluetooth? I had thought that became an option on the R56s. Thanks.
Yes, sorta... MINI offered a kit way back when to do the Bluetooth thing. A quick look at RealOEM shows they do not make it anymore as manay of the parts now show as ended. See RealOEM.com  BMW R53 Cooper S Single parts f hands-free fac. Bluetooth It may be possible that a dealer has one sitting on a shelf. You could try contacting one of the fine M/A sponsors that carries OEM parts and ask them to check if any are out there. Other options include 3rd party solutions. Don't quote but I think New MINI Stuff over in the UK has the bits needed. Might want to check with others in the states too. Aaron over at OutMotoring would be my first call. I know you'll share the adventure in sorting this out and I look forward to reading more.
Nathan is correct Monica and here is the link. NewMINIStuff.com I have their Bluetooth kit for my car and it works great. I have their stereo upgrade as well. I can tell you their stuff is top notch and they provide good support via email. Jim
Dice Electronics makes an EXCELLENT Bluetooth/iPod/USB/Sirius adapter for the R53 Minis. I've got one in my 2004 (with a 2006 stereo) and it works great, can take calls, listen to music off my phone via BT, stick a flash drive into the USB and hit shuffle. I'd recommend getting it off of Select BMW Model | www.europeanautosource.com with the shorter interface cable they provide.
