2009 BRG Hardtop (Non-S) with ~20,000 miles and the MINI NEXT 100k warranty for $16800 from a Mini dealership. Pretty happy with the deal I got. Car is very basic, only the cold weather package. I intentionally avoided the panoramic moon roof as I don't want ~70 lbs of glass at the highest point of the vehicle. Compared to my last mini, a 2003 BRG R53 Hardtop, the new one feels great. Very tight, and the naturally aspirated motor is exceptionally smooth. Not fast by any stretch of the word, but pulls hard enough to be fun from 3-5k rpms in 3rd gear. A little bit too much body roll for me so I'll be adding a rear sway and springs, as well as lightweight 15's with sticky rubber. Part of the reason I got a non-S is because I knew with an S I would dump thousands into mods. There really isn't much to spend money on with the Justa cooper!
Congrats sounds like a nice MINI. I have an R53 & my wife has a Justaclubster sans turbo. I like the MINI NA engine. Like you said smooth & great gas mileage. In fact I like the Justa enough that if I buy an R56 it would most likely be one.
Agreed. I've spent several thousand miles in a family members' R56 Hardtop S, and it is definitely a lot faster, especially from a low-end torque surge perspective, but I actually find the justa equally enjoyable to drive and love the simplicity and smooth power delivery of NA BMW inline motors.
Congratulations! Welcome to M/A I love BRG - can't get any more classic that that. We need pictures please. :biggrin5:
Congrats! My first MINI was a Justa r53. I love my current S, but wouldn't turn my back on another Justa in the future.
