It appears after 60k, my tensioner is bouncing. Time for a new one... Why can't someone sell the little shock absorber?

If you're talking about the chain tensioner in the engine, your local MINI dealer has them, just be sure you get the latest and greatest version.

What makes you say it's "bouncing"?

Geez......you second gen guys need to stay out of our threads!

    :D

And no, no one has been able to locate a replacement for just the damper on our tensioners. Replaced mine for about $135 from the dealer.

How did you manage that price? The tensioner itself is about $160 from Way and I planned on doing the install myself???

My local dealer and club discount. Check with Classic or Morristown for prices as they offer some good deals.

A Gates tensioner runs around $100 in Canada.
A MINI tensioner is $300 from the MINI dealer.
