Is anyone up for a drive over to this event? We can map a backroads route over and back making it an all day event for MoM. 27th Annual British Car Day - Dayton, Ohio Saturday, August 6, 2011 9am - 4pm Eastwood MetroPark, 1385 Harshman Rd., Dayton, Oh. Honoring 50 years of the XKE & hosting the 2011 AMGBA Meet http://www.miamivalleytriumphs.org/2011%20BCD.pdf
Sounds like a good plan. That car show is at one of the nicest venues any show is held at. I'll be at Mid-Ohio on Friday. Take a day off Jason & head to Dayton for a fun day of donuts BBQ & camaraderie with Brit car guys. Can't wait to be told my car's German.
I'll be at the Dayton show unless I need to be in California for work - trying to get tickets and schedules coordinated as we speak. Would we caravan out on Sat. morning and stop for BBQ or what? I'll be in the classic, so I'll have to drive 65-70 tops (only having 55HP limits you some), just forwarning you... -Matt
We will be at the car show. It being in our neck of the woods and all The BBQ place in Tipp is about 30 minutes from the show and the BBQ and Ice Cream in Englewood is about 30 minutes away just in a slightly different direction. So.... Which one do we want to go to?????
If you go to Hickory River for BBQ, watch as you enter the parking lot. There is quite a dip and lowered cars will really scrape. Also, the exit from the lot has another low area that makes me scrape a lot [and it would even if I didn't have a weight factor onboard!]. Let me know when y'all plan to be there, ok? As for the BCD, I'm not sure if I can go. My wife will be out of town and I have an old doggie. Maybe I'll go for awhile to visit, but I don't think I am showing this year.
Any decisions on BBQ place???? There is also another really good BBQ place in Englewood called Company BBQ. We think OinkaDoodleMoo is slightly better but both are yummy!
I'd be up to participating in a convoy to BBQ/the event/etc. if people are OK with a classic tagging along. If we do that, just let me know where we're assembling. If the idea is to do BBQ *after* or during the event, I'd still be interested in a convoy if one's forming - otherwise I'll meet you guys there.
How about this...breakfast at der Dutchman in Plain City at 8:30 then take the backroads to the show. Leave the show at 2:00 and eat barbecue then back to Cbus. Those wanting to run backroads home can and those wanting to run uninteresting 70 can go that way. Should be home by 5:30.
