I love being in my MINI but sometimes I need to get out. So I stop the car (R53) and car is locked -- locks after hitting 20 mph or something..... It is programmed, or used to be, that you open the door handle latch twice and the lock opens/door opens. Now I'm locked in and it won't open on the driver's side. Passenger side still opens with the 2fer pull. If I hit the unlock on toggle switch or wings on the key, it unlocks just fine. Help me.
I'll get you out Carol.... I'm on my way with the cutting torch and as backup.... "The Jaws of Life"..... I'll have you out in a jiffy, no worries..... This will be fun.... I haven't had a good reason to use the Jaws of Life... I'm with Chuck, cable in the door issue....

Opens but doesn't unlock... Obviously. First pull on the inside handle should unlock. It doesn't. I'll take the door apart tomorrow and see what it looks like.
Afraid so.... Carol wouldn't let me get close to workin on extracting her with all my specialized rescue tools.
Can we get her a General Lee horn to go along with her entry and exit strategy? Are you sure Chester isn't just playing with your extra key and laughing that you are the one stuck in a cage this time
I am out.... But heading to MAG with it on Weds. It's whacky. They will play with it while I'm out playing with dogs in Reno.
Got MINI back from MAG. Bowden cable was over stretched and needed to be replaced. Why they name a cable after a coach I'll never know.
