The votes are in and counted. Central Coast Mini Coopers is going to the Pozo Saloon on Saturday May 17 for lunch.

Attached is a route map and detailed route instructions for our drive to the Pozo Saloon. I will have copies at the Driver's Meeting.

If you plan to attend please let me know, if you have not already done so.
Currently I have Mike M, Pat K, and myself going.

I will be leaving from Orcutt, picking anyone up in SLO, and then stopping in Atascadero to pick-up others and have a Driver's Meeting.
You can start from Orcutt, SLO, or Atascadero.
    The basic plan is:
9:30 Meet in Orcutt (CVS at Clark & Bradley)
10:10 Pickup anyone at Coast BMW on Los OsosValley Road in SLO
10:35 Stop in Atascadero (Starbucks Parking Lot, US-101 & CA-41) for Driver’s Meeting
Take 41, 229, 58, Huer Huero, and Park Hill to Pozo
    11:45 Pozo Saloon - Lunch
Take Pozo, Las Pilitas, Park Hill, and 58 to Santa Margarita
2:10 Back in SLO or Atascadero
    2:45 Back in Orcutt

82 miles (round trip Atascadero to Atascadero)
106 miles (round trip SLO to SLO)
178 miles (round trip Orcutt to Orcutt)

It should be a nice day for a back roads drive.

It was a great drive. If you have not driven CA-229 between Creston and CA-58 you need to make that little detour on one of your trips to the coast. It is an awesome, nicely paved, road with many sharp turns and elevation changes. The only disadvantage is that the road is narrow with no center dividing line so you really need to pay attention and stay on your own side but the traffic is very light. Only one car and one truck came the opposite direction during our crossing.
