Hey Guys, My name is Mike, im 21 and I'm around Tampa Fl now. I'll be picking up my 2011 Pure Red Countryman S or JCW(idk which one yet) in Feb. I've always wanted a MINI and always needed a 4dr. Ive always been a euro car guy owning a 89 GTI, and a 02 and 06 Passat, I'm currently in my 06 Passat and I love it. It's 6spd and it's a 2L turbo remapped and spiking 23psi and holding at 20. I'm in love with the low end powerband and the stomach churning torque. So I basically want to do the same thing with my MINI but idk what to do since this is my first BMW product. Who are some good tuners and product makers? Who do you guys recommend for remapping a 1.6T? Is it reasonable to expect the same power out of the MINI as my Passat is now? What type of power adders are u guys using. Thanks for puttin up with my n00bness!lol
Howdy I'm sure there will be lots of goodies, in short order, once the tuner/suspension/engine folks get their hands on one Mark
Thanks guys! I'm super stoked to finally get my hands on one. Idk if leasing or financing is the way to go yet tho. I'll be sure to post pics! Does anyone know the turbo specs? K03 I'm assuming...is it the same used in a 335. I've only heard of twin scroll in the 335's. I wanna search but idk where to start lol
Way Motor Works in Atlanta is your man for tuning. He is also a sponsor on this board. Welcome to the addiction!
A lot, I gained over 50 wtrq and im on the n14 platform with no variable valve timing. once tuners can experiment with the Variable valve timing engines more can be had.
Honestly you should wait before modding, let some people do some r&d and blow some stuff up before you invest and become the test platform ending up like this:incazzato:
Yeah the VVT should up the anty a lil more on these engines. Another thing that just struck me is the weight of this vehicle!! Close to 3k. It's gonna need some power to get her goin...
