CNBC will be sending a 4 person crew to cover our MOTD to be part of a one hour documentary there are working on for BMW and MINIs. Got this in the MOTD email update, but could not find any mention on the MOTD site, but sounds interesting, anybody know anything more abot this?
I was contacted on Feb. 3rd from a producer at CNBC saying they are doing a one hour documentary on the BMW and MINIs. They are doing some of the work in hand with BMW, but thought it would be nice to include something outside of the main coporation, somthing more grassroots. After doing some searching on the internet they found my site www.minisonthedragon.com and contacted me. They should be flying down and arriving on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday.
Tell them the only way to arrive at the Dragon is in a MINI. They should rent one at the local dealer / airport, and experience the Dragon in true MINIessence.
No one near by has MINI Rentals. I've looked quite a bit. If anyone know someone, let me know. With that said, I'm sure our community will find a way to lend them a MINI to drive on the Dragon
Well, if they have never driven the Dragon, maybe an experienced driver would be a better option. Don't need them upside down in the weeds with the wheels spinning.
Actually, the light bulb just went on and I made a call and I'm 98% sure they'll have a MINI to drive.....details to follow
Well if the CNBC guy's are any kind of car people, they're sure gonna have a hard time getting the grin off their faces when they get back to the office.
This is such exciting news!!! Much deserved recognition for Snooter and all his HARD work putting this AWESOME event together every year!
Thanks :blush2: , but this event wouldn't be anything without all the great people that help make it happen We won't be holding our breath on this one
Oh man... I don't envy the camera man on that trip down the Dragon. Can you imagine what it has to be like to try and focus on a display screen / eye-piece when hitting 318 turns. I'd hurl somewhere around corner #20! I'm sure lots of folks are offering, but be sure to let us all know what we can do to make 'em feel at home and a part of the community!
I've seen MINIs for rent at the Atlanta airport, and it's not like there are THAT many major airports significantly closer than that. Just a thought.
