This PR item came across my desk today...

Leading suspension manufacturer Cobra has released a superb new spring upgrade kit for the latest version of the perennial Mini – The Countryman. This new, larger rendition of the British favourite is already endowed with a sure-footed four-wheel-drive platform, but the Cobra kit gives the Mini even great handling prowess, allied to a much more purposeful stance.

Cobra’s engineering-led solution uses pre-fatigued and shot-peened springs to lower the car by around 40mm (front) and 35mm (rear). Not only does this do wonders for the off-road stance of the baby BMW, but also adds a significant dynamic improvement to the whole driving experience. Turn-in and general handling are greatly improved without ruining the Countryman’s compliant factory ride quality and best of all, the springs are designed to work perfectly with the factory dampers.

With a thick protective powder coat and numerous anti-corrosive treatments, it comes as little surprise that all Cobra kits come with full TUV approval and a class-leading 5 year warranty. Prices are as yet unconfirmed, but expected to be in line with the rest of the Cobra range. The kit is priced at £138.10 + VAT.

Reasonably priced....but does a 1/2" drop really do that much for the "stance"?

Edit: I guess 40mm is closer to an inch.....

Have to see this on someone else s CM first. My wife would hate me messing with her CM.

Of course when I showed her the sound video of the Forge/Scorpion exhaust she liked it. :confused5:
