While the Chrome Line interior and exterior packages have long been a staple of spec’ing any new MINI, owners looking for less bling have had to turn to folks like Todd Pearson to get the glair off some of the MINI’s shiny details. It would appear MINI is now seeing the appeal and will soon be introducing a “Black Line” set of exterior details. Including the rear taillight trim rings, the rear fog light trim ring, the side scuttles and the headlight trim rings, the “Black Line” will let you take your MINI darker. Look for this to show up as an available option in the Configurator some time soon, and once it does, these parts should be available at your local MINI parts desk and elsewhere for retrofit. No word yet on whether there will be a matching “Black Line” interior package. MotoringFile
Pretty smart move by them...it's nice when mfr's pay some attention to market / customizing trends and so on. Perhaps I'll hold off on that purchase of PlastiDip stock...
Just checked availabilty and the headlight rings show a few in the US the tail light trim and other pieces show no stock in the US as of yet. We are in the works of adding these parts to our site so that they can be ordered.
Well it's about time. Now if they add a blacked out belt line, door handles and gas cap that would be cool.
I heard that the new black out trim will be on the next batch of R53's that come off the line in Oxford, goaljnky. Jim
I like my R56 just fine, thank you very much. You folks need to move on and stop living in the past. Jim
Has anyone heard when the Black Line Trim will be available? I haven't been able to find anything on when we'll be able to order the package or purchase the trim pieces (for those of us that already have the silver trim). I have a White Silver MINI with black stripes, black headlamp housings and black wheels and it looks AWESOME. Would love to have some additional black trim!
