So while driving today and listening to music. During a loss of signal I heard a strange noise. Pulled over and found my RR lower link was snapped and not hanging but onto each end. And my LR wheel was totally lose. Wheel hub shot. But it gets worse both rear tires that have less than 3 months gone. Both in the inside. Don't understand what that's about, other than alignment. Previously never felt anything odd.,or smell of tire wearing. So questions 1. Should I replace both rear hubs and is there a kit part number. 2. Lower link suggestions for replacement OEM or who 3. Where else do I have to look in order to avoid tire wear.
Replace hubs with OEM ones, no rock auto crap parts. For lower rear control arms I have and like my Helix adjustable ones. Helix MINI Cooper Rear Adjustable Control Arms
Northern CT.....any chance within a short hop up to see Pete at Greasysgarage in Worcester Mass? Getting somebody too look things over might be a good idea if things have gotten so bad, unnoticed, till now.... They are getting busy with MOT coming up, but might be worth getting them too take a look....
extreme tire wear on inside is most likely due to poor alignment - camber and toe set to extreme values. Possibly because something was gradually breaking and out of spec before it failed completely.
With the link broken your alignment would go way off and the tire will wear very quickly. I am a little confused because you stated your RR link was broken but your LR wheel was loose. Maybe just a typo and your RR wheel was loose. In any case, it sounds like both tires were worn. Negative camber will wear the inside of the tire and too much toe will increase the wear rate. If you car is lowered, the camber goes pretty far negative which will cause wear if the camber is not adjusted back to a normal range.
