Countryman meets the press in Austin Texas today. All the different configurations as well as a few convertibles. Some new colors, some good like the candle apple sort'a red, a stunning deep metallic blue, and an interesting bright blue, but one in particular on the convertible is sure to be discontinued soon. A new silky tuxedo fabric adorns the convertible top. A little too much like the PT Cruiser. This wheel is a little too much like the infamous Knight's Cross. Ode to Gustav Klimt graphic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kiss_(Klimt_painting) The "Satan's Pitchfork" graphic is kool. It really does look good in person. The better late than never brake ducts. Familiar engine bay lay-out with more plasticge. MINI USA chose two very nice resorts as destination/departure points for the press. The country man pretending a preview drive. A few impressions, looking at the dash I think Buck Rogers with a mammary fixation, it's not as tall as I imagined it would be, the pillar trim is painted instead of dyed, that won't last, brakes are carry-overs and look small under the 18in wheels, the Cooper grill looks good and better suited than the busy S, and I think it is just like many other small SUVs in styling. If it had brush guards, wire mesh grills, running lights, roof racks, and honking knobby tires, then it would be unique.
Well cool, thanks for the pics K. I bet it was nice to experience some touch and feel with the new family members. The parking lots are insanely dirty/dusty at the Salt Lick, so I try to avoid that place. It is just not worth it. It seems odd to show off these new cars in a dirty environment, typically show room clean is required.
