Hi Guys, New to the forum and mini coopers. Ive rebuilt the transmission in my 2003 mini cooper, replacing the belt. Now when I put the car in reverse it goes forward. park dosnt move. Any ideas. Ive had this in and out 5 times. Begging. lol
Welcome to MA! I wish I could help, but I have to ask, does it go backwards in drive? Their should be someone along that can help more than me.
If you are sure you did the rebuild correct have you checked the leakage to make sure it is correct? I have never had a CVT apart those are very problem pron transmissions. Do you have a Bentley manual?
There is not a lot of documentation on these transmissions, so it is grasp one idea from here one idea from there. topped up no leaks. no extra bolts. Ive had the transmission apart 5 times.
I don't think there is anything in the Bentley manual. I am not home I will check tomorrow when I get home and see if it addresses anything to do with the CVT.
Not that this helps you at the moment, but I thought that there was some shift lever process you had to do after the transmission job to "reset" everything. Like park to N to P to D to P (or some such crazy scenario)
n found the service manual for the 2003 mini, gives the oild change procedure but nothing on the internal workings of the tranny. still no clues.
