Hi, Can anybody explain the procedure on a standard R50 115HP Cooper for removing the the cylinder head , changing the head gasket and re-installing the head? Including any specialist tools that is required to do this job? Also whats the time frame for this job? Thanks,
I would invest in a Bentley manual and all your question will be answered with proper torque setting for every bolt. MINI Cooper Service Manual: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006: MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S, Convertible: Bentley Publishers: 9780837616391: Amazon.com: Books
I think the head removal is pretty straightforward and no special tools are needed. The Bentley manual will help a lot with all the various torque values. Frankly, it's a very good investment if you are going to work on the MINI.
