Made it through the first hour. More commercials then show, but it was really bad, so it didn't matter. I was a real fan, back in the day, so I was hoping for better. Oh well, it won't make it. Jim
seems as if we need some new talent in Hollywood. The best they can do now is remake old shows and movies......
It seems that they're afraid of original thought anymore, it sucks. Isn't this new Dallas more of a sequel than a remake? I couldn't bring myself to watch it either way, because I loved the old show.
What we need is more pawngunstorageauctionfishinghauntedpicker reality shows...you know the ones that the producers add more drama where no drama exists. :frown2: If they could figure out a way to get boobies on Deadliest Catch, it would be the best ever show on television, ever! :ihih:
Deadliest Catch has run it's course. Tried to watch it this season but was bored. Oh look, an argument Golly, the weather is rough...again It's played out.
I think my favorite show right now is Burn Notice. It has a little for everyone... good-lookin' dudes, good-lookin' ladies, cars, action, a little romance and a lot of explosions and weapons :ihih: OH! And Bruce Campbell
I thought that a few years ago, but I'm back cuz there's no better alternative at that time...plus I can't ever get enough Mike Rowe! :cornut:
"nothing better at that time..." Wow. Other than sporting events, we only watch TiVo'd shows. At our house we actually have little idea of when things are "on" these days. Modern technology! Growing up: the three networks, then PBS later. Knew exactly what favorite shows were on when. And network schedulers would pit show "A" against show "B" just to try to impact audience share. Or purposefully choose not to, just to give their new show a chance against "Ed Sullivan" or whatever.* *["Ed Sullivan" was a popular variety show in the '50's / 60's that aired on Sunday nights, and generally captured a large audience in that time slot. Yes, I had to explain this to my generationally-younger bride the first time I had her watch "Bye Bye Birdie" with me]. ["Bye Bye Birdie" was an early 60's musical (later, a Hollywood movie) largely spoofing the popularity of teen idols like Elvis Presley, and especially the impact of his being chosen for the military draft. A plot line included planning for an appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, along with a musical number about Ed's program]. Cr@p. Apparently...I'm old.
We only watch about an hour and a half of TV a day and there is still very little worth watching. Up at 5:00am, dinner around 9:00pm, asleep in the chair by 10:30pm. Jim
No tivo here...I have yet to own my first cellphone, so I suppose that should come before the tivo. :cornut:
I would really like to get rid of my direct tv and get an HD antenna to watch whatever comes on there. I only really need tv during playoffs for most sports and football...
We got rid of cable three years ago, and I rarely miss it. More money for mods! Since we have Xbox Live Gold, we get ESPN on there, so I get all my soccer still, and most football. What doesn't come in there is usually broadcast, so we still get to watch it, as we have a tv tuner card in our PC and a good antenna. The few shows I miss from outside of this I "acquire" elsewhere. Rum4, the "HD antenna" doesn't mean anything. All it really is is an extended range. You just need a regular antenna, pointed the right way, unless you live a long distance from the towers. We ended up having to get an "hd" one due to how far away the ABC tower was.
