Firing-range instructor hands 9-year-old an Uzi. Now he’s dead. - The Washington Post Seriously.....wth
Sad thing is... I could not have made up a crazier story.... I would like have expected it to be the lead story on "The Onion".
I agree! When I take someone new to firearms to the range I am always in a position to take control of the wepon. More than once I have grabbed a gun before it got pointed in the wrong direction. It only takes a secound to be distracted. This is sad.
Who the F gives a 9 year old an Uzi? ok after 1 shot ok let's go full auto. WTF? I do feel bad for the girl.
Ultimate responsibility is to the parents. I started my kids on a .22 first. Then a little more if/when they were comfortable with that. The first thing I though when I saw it was that little girl has to live with this, she is going to need help.
People, especially knuckleheads like this so called "fire range instructor", wonder why our second amendment rights are always under attack. I have spent my fair share of time on ranges shooting and coaching while I was in the Corps, some people, no matter how much instruction they get should ever be around weapons, and this "fire range instructor" is one of them. He knew the characteristics of the weapon, he should have never given it to her let alone give the command for that selector to go into auto, what a rock. I feel sorry for the girl, way to young to see something like that.
I'll agree they share a degree of responsibility. I don't know their experiences with fire arms but in all fairness they put their trust in a man who was supposedly an 'expert'. The way I see it he was the one person most responsible for the incident.
