Brakes Wheels 2nd Gen Tires Dash Brake Light Issue

    haveing issue with brake light in dash.
    red brake light came on in dash.my front brakes were wore out so i replaced the front pads and the sensor on the caliper.how do i reset that light.also when i crank car a picture of a car on lift comes on is this something i can deal with or is it dealer time again? the picture of the car on lift goes away after 30 sec. but the red brake light stays on all the time. I have a 07 mini cooper S. thanks ahead of time MIG50

    Yeah, the two lights are connected. Basically you've worn down the pad sensor telling you the pads need attention = red brake light, the car on the lift = needs service (brake service). You've performed all the repair yourself. Now the computer nanny needs to be reset.....

    Then you'll be good and the nanny will go back to sleep, until next time....

    The red brake light did not clear on my 2009 Cooper. The fluid level is correct. The front rotors, pads and sensor was changed. The red light on the dash panel is still lit. The car has 33,0000 miles and the reset service date was successful (and now states 35,000). What am I missing. Is there a sequence of button pushes that will work or am I destined for a trip to the dealership?
