Wow the paint looks great! But I have to ask are you missing a cat? if so check under the hood. I believe I saw one in the first picture.
Also I cleaned, polished and Gyeon Ceramic coated the 20 inch Summer wheels with RIM by Gyeon before Winter storage. Winter 18 inch OZ wheels are on the car now in the pictures above.
Oh it is homely, but from the front seat it all works very well. You just can’t look at this part......lol
Well, someone just booked me a full detail (Ceramic coating) on a brand new 2019 Acura MDX all black for this weekend. SUV already has dealership installed swirls from just taking off the protective white vinyl and washing it. I also have a real 2006 GP coming in Thanksgiving week for Full detail with ceramic coating and wheel coating. More pictures will be posted.
@Dave.0 How do you know when it's time to redcoat a car? Also do you use this on the trim now instead of Penetrol? https://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-trim/ What coating do you use for rims? The black satin rims on the helmet are starting to look a little bad even after washing. It's like the brake dust is staining them.
Lee when the Dave O secret sauce wore off of my sweeties clubster I decided not to re-coat it. As it was wearing off it looked like a bad sunburn does as the skin peels. I now treat it with Prima Nero at every car warsh. I'm pretty sure 303 is the same stuff. I know it isn't high end stuff, but it works for this old gut. As for your wheels, brake dust will etch into the finish of the wheels. I've had good luck cleaning baked on brake dust with Sonnax full effect wheel cleaner. I use a polymer called Rejex to coat the wheels once cleaned. Dave will be here soon to tell you what I said is wrong.
Lee if you keep you car in a garage and I believe you coated your car with Gyeon Syncro you should be good for at least 2 years easy. When you wash your car and dry it use Cure every couple washes and you should have no problems. I just re-coated that Civic Type R after 2 years because the top (hood and roof) where showing poor water sheeting and beading. I also re-coated the factory 20 inch rims. The Type R does not get washed that often unless my friend has me do it for her. I wash the type R more times at the Dragon in a week than she washes it in a year. lol She does not wash often because unless done right you can scratch the Honda paint easily. I stopped using Penetrol a few years ago. I remove it with some acetone and a pressure washer. I use Gyeon Trim on all the cars I detail as it hold up for years without re-coating. As for your rims or any Gloss or Matte finish rims I use Gyeon RIM or Kamikaze Stance Rim coating. Both of them are excellent coatings for wheels and will not turn Matte finish wheels glossy. I just use whatever one I have on hand. Both of them will stand up to harsh wheel cleaners like Sonax Full effect wheel cleaners that turn colors to remove iron and brake dust. I always use the same stuff Crashton uses it clean all wheels before coating. Since my wheels are well coated I can use just soap and water to wash my wheels. Don’t get me wrong, I also use the strong harsh cleaners on my wheels when needed as the coatings protect them from getting etched. Yesterday MDX. Still in the garage baking until the rain and drizzle goes away today and the owner comes and picks it up. Better pictures coming after I pull it outside. The closeup shows where the car had major scratches from the dealership removing vinyl with plastic razor blades.
Nice wet look Dave. Man it seems that every car dealer screws up new car paint. I swear they use whips & chains to clean them.
Well the 2006 original GP is starting to look a lot better. I washed and clayed the car last Saturday. I did a lot of old dried wax removal all around the whole car. Next all the windows were steel wooled with 0000 grade. I removed all non OEM stickers and license plate. Finally I got started on the paint late Sunday. I started cutting the paint with Sonax Max Cut on my Rupes with Meguiars MF cutting pads. I ended up cutting the entire car starting with the roof and working around and down too the very bottom. Every part that has paint on this car has been cut and polished. I used 10 MF cutting pads. I spent the next two days polishing out the fine scratches from cutting the paint with the same machine with Sonax Perfect Finish with a Rupes yellow pad. I used about 12 Yellow Pads. The next step was coating with Gyeon MOHS and Prime. I applied 1 coat of MOHS to the roof and hood. Then the next day I applied 2 coats of Gyeon Prime on the entire car. Today the wheels will be coming off so the can be coated with Gyeon RIM and the trim on the car will be coats with Gyeon Trim. Thats all the updates for today, pictures below.
