Today I told the owner of the GP to bring the title for the car Saturday because he is not getting this car back. I will give him my car and title. Today was second coating day, trim dressing, RainX all glass and remove the wheels. This way I was able take them inside and clean, polish and coat them. I also removed the hood vents by the wipers so I could strip, clean and coat them. Yes they are sitting on my new motor.
Well the owner came and picked up the GP and was blown away. Oh and this little thing got a nice wash before she went back in the garage. It has been sitting outside for two weeks.
I think you did the GP proud. I do love the depth and the completeness of your detailing. The 'mistress' even looks a bit dowdy after seeing all the deep silver gray.
@Dave.0 my 23 yearly son bought an S2000. It looks good but needs some paint work. It has swirl marks in the paint and one door must have been resprayed. I bought some Sonax Perfect Finish and Rupes Yellow Polishing pads. I was planing on coating it but he lives out of town and he would only be able to stay a night or 2, he said he would drive the Helmet home so I could keep the car longer, yea fat chance. He lives in an apartment so keeping it dry for a week to let the coating cure may be hard. So I am thinking of finishing it with a wax. What do you think is the best thing for me to do to make it easy for him to be able to maintain the car. He is very picky, don't know where he gets it.
It’s good stuff, use two coats and it will shine and been super slick. Also, no rubbing hard to remove it. It wipes off like pollen.
Sure seems like a good way to do that. Any wax is going to be gone in short order on a outside parked car. Gotta love these sealants. Better living through chemistry. Is this the son who owned a Mustang Lee? If so he has gone to the opposite end of the spectrum. S2000 is a great car, just keep the revs up!
Yes it is the same son. I now have the Mustang, Oh boy. Soon to be sold. He loves the S2000 we plan on going to the dragon some time this year with our cars. He was lucky. He saw the car right after it went on Craigslist. The guy who listed it was surprised about how many calls he got on it in a short amount of time. My son was the first to call he told my son he would give him first shot at it so the next day he looked at it and bought it. There where several people lining up for it. It is in great shape.
I'm digging the driving lamps on the front of the Indy Blue R53 w/ the "53" meatballs. That Ford SHO really cleaned up well. Nicely done!
Dave, my Lotus has satin black rims. The brake dust is really stuck on. I used Simple Green on them that helped but there is still a lot stuck on them. Whats the best way to get them clean?
Lee I use Sonax full effect wheel cleaner. I had a set of used wheels that had baked on brake dust. Nothing I tried would touch it. Well the Sonax did the trick.
