This is one of the most annoying issues that can happen to any car, but it happened to my mini. Im referring to engineers negligence in washing their hands after they fix the car and then take it out for a test drive before delivering it to the owner! They fill the steering wheel with dirt as they drive it and never wash the dirt off! What can i do (apart from telling them) to protect the leather on the steering wheel? Is there some cover i can put on the st wheel so that all the dirt goes on that and not the leather?

Good idea about the cover. Maybe one of those rubber ones. Amazon.com: steering wheel covers

Myself I just make it a point to let the shop owner/manager know if any dirt is left on the car. It only took one complaint and it never happened again.

Just wipe it off with Windex, it's just dirt / grease.

Golly, Chuck, maybe you could get a Tim Bits donut hole overlay for your horn button, too!
