    Hi
My 02 S left window has been making a clicking sound when you roll up the window. It would do it just before it got to the up position. Today it made a crunching sound and will only roll down a inch before hanging up. The cable in the front is loss and the one in the rear is tight.
    Can anyone help. Thanks.
P.S. I'm also doing a carbon rap on the dash if anyone has some tips.

Time to order a new window regulator, it's not a bad job if you have a few tools.

I believe 10mm socket, T20/30 a large set of channel lock pliers and a philips screw driver.

    Good writeup on Pelican: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/MINI/63-BODY-Window_Regulator_Replacement/63-BODY-Window_Regulator_Replacement.htm

They recommend using a 5mm hex to remove the glass retainers, I use channel locks since it's tricky to fit a hex into that space and the retainers are typically very tight.

You really have to watch the products from Rock Auto. Most of the time they are cheap Chinese knockoffs that won't last anywhere near as long as OEM, so what you save right now will be more than eaten by having to the job again and again.

+1 for what Nathan is saying, I've tried several different aftermarket regulators on bmw's and minis and have encountered consistent early failure. The OEM regulators are the only way in my experience.

The one I ordered has a 2 year warranty. so I thought I would give it a shot.
You do have to watch what you get from them. I try to only order a part if its made by a known company. For instance I was looking at catalytic converter for a Honda. They have one made by MagnaFlow. Its not the cheapest but its still a good price.
Your both correct and I should have included a warning
    Thanks Guys
