Coming home from a family reunion and stopped at a rest stop. Get out and shut the door, open the barn doors to get a water out of the cooler, walk back and try to open the Driver's door..... nothing. Walk around and open the passenger door with no problems. Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key fob and still nothing. Had to climb in from the passenger side and drive home. Looks like a trip to M.A.G. Hopefully they can get me in on Monday. Wow that sucks. I'm sure they will get you fixed up. Does the door open from the inside now or not at all? Is there any reason your MINI did not want you back in the car?
Does the touch pad move in and out? Sometimes the the touch pad on my drivers door seems to stick and is really hard to push. Takes two hands then all is well. Jim
You can't open it from the inside either. The touch pad does move. It actually moves easier, like there is no resistance.
Sounds like a cable broke/disconnected going to the latch, or the opening/latching cycle is out of sync. Make sure there is nothing preventing either the inside or outside handles from going all the way to the closed position. Not that this is likely, as ice is usually the culprit, and mostly only on early 1st gen MINIs. Mark
Called MAG this morning and they told me to bring it in. I was working from home with Brody, so I didn't get there until around 10:00ish. M.A.D. picked us up (her office is down the street) and dropped me off at work and took Brody home. They called me at 11:30 to say it was fixed. Cable had become disconnected. I wish I could have just waited there for them to fix it, but had to get into the office for a meeting.
For some reason I find Gorilla Glue to be very messy and not to hold all that well, but the name is very cool. Never tried the tape. Jim
Depends what you are using it on. For pottery and ceramics, it's one of the best choices for the job.
