NHTSA: Under 18 mph, electric vehicles will need to make "alert sound" (Autoblog.com) Article w/ links, etc, here.
I've heard the Fisker Karma. It's a weird electronic tone: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF_hOR0cXS8]Fisker Karma: Tron-like sound - YouTube[/ame]
^^^ Those aren't moving so it is no problem, them not restarting might be. Them electric cars are darned sneaky & quite literally can sneak up on you. Almost got clouted by a Prius in a parking lot once.
Simple solution: An endless loop tape recording of a Ferrari Testa Rossa that plays every time nanny says it has to.
They call that "Stalling". I had a '81 AMC that did this all the time. Not only was it inconvienent, and anoying, it was borderline dangerous.
You had a AMC too? We made the same mistake ourselves. There should be something, don't have a clue what, that those foolish but wiser such as ourselves can have that says something profound about whatever it was we suffered thru.
Why not just do like the movie Dilemma!! They made the electric Dodge Challenger sound like a real Hot Rod..
Im thinking more along the lines of the Jetsons car noise. Seems fitting with the looks of most of them.
You don't have to be deaf, but it helps. I think making them sound like a Stuka in a dive might grab folks attention. :ihih: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMZrW0p2INY]Stuka diving sound - YouTube[/ame]
Nah.....have them sound like a little kid going "vroom....vrooom"! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33Jl6KFIhDo]Vroom-vroom Boy - YouTube[/ame]
