I have a 2011 club s with 4000miles on it. This afternoon when i started the car i got a Light on the tach with a engine symbol...It wont go away unless i push the button on the blinker controller....Now i have done some mods to the car like the DOS Cai and the way motor works performance blow off valve..here is the link

WMW Performance Blow off Valve - Way Motor Works

But both parts have been in the car for over 400miles now...

I was just wondering if anyone else has got this light on there cars and what it ended up being...

I guess i didnt explain the light very well...But its in Yellow of course and it looks like a engine block..with half of the inside of it colored in...

Not alot of details to go on here. First comes to mind is that it will probably go away. 2nd is that it is under warranty, take it in if it doesn't go away

Overall good idea to get yourself of OBDII reader

Knowing the codes would help a lot. A local Autozone would be helpful in reading codes or if you tell us where you live maybe a fellow M/A member can assist in the code reading.

i would have a local autoparts store scan before you take it to the dealer, if they decide that one of your aftermarket parts is the culprit then it can cause you some serious problems later down the road. you can get a generic obd2 scanner for $40-60 i strongly suggest it

The only codes that we've seen from the DoS CAI are from when a customer gets a little too enthusiastic with the K&N recharger oil after cleaning our filter element, but this is easily remedied. Considering that you only have 400 miles on the parts, you probably have not cleaned your filter yet (at least I hope not).

Definitely let us know the codes once you've plugged-in a scanner to your OBDII port. The M/A community and DoS wants you code-free.

Well just got back from the dealer...And they said it was a Intake sensor that went off..So of course they blamed the CAI....They said they saw nothing wrong with the car and dont really know why it through a code..Except the Aftermarket Cai.....So we will see if it throws another code..

Hey got the codes..Here they are Exactly worded on Dealer work order
29DC AND 2C58 stored in DME for charge air temp sensor Plausibility.
Aftermarket Intake System installed. Possible cause of fault is key cycled during installation of intake system causing faults to occur. At this time faults were cleared.

Did they tell you what the code was?

Did the dealer give you the actual numerical code that they read off their scanner? Was it P115C?

    Ahh . . . BMW Codes, not "P" codes.

29DC = Cylinder injection switch-off: Short circuit or signal interruption

2C58 = Charge-air pressure control, deactivation: charge-air pressure buildup disabled

These codes are fuel system and charge air pressure control/regulation problems downstream of your CAI. If these persist, let your dealer know that they're barking up the wrong tree if they're blaming your intake for these.

    Best,

    -Clint

:mad2:If you go in there not understanding what your service advisor is talking to you about, that can be the case.:mad2:

An inexpensive code reader is an important tool to have -- especially once you start modding. It can save you loads of time and trouble at the dealer.

.....rip a 20% off Harbour Freight coupon out of a magazine and run down and get one. They don't have the exact BMW codes but they can give you enough info to head you in the right direction. 2cents

At the mini dealer again for the second time. Again check engine light on-fuel pump. I bought the car 2 weeks ago-New. Dealership said they reset it last week-something MUST be wrong. The dealership is so nice, apologist. I'll post the outcome.
