These sold fast at this year's MOTD. I see lots of these being used at the autocrosses(use it myself :cornut:). Any Interest in a presale special on these cameras?

Some info on the GoPro Hero Cameras:

The world's smallest, wireless on-board video camera. Quickly attaches to helmets, cars, motorcycles, boats, planes, etc. This is perfect to record your track days, or even just driving through your favorite roads.

The Hero Camera is available in a standard lens camera or a 170º wide angle lens. Both Cameras feature a 5 megapixel sensor for the most immersive point of view video and photos possible from a wearable sports camera, period.

Sets up in seconds and is easily moved between different mount locations. With using a 2gb SD Card (not included) you can shoot 56 minutes of high-resolution video and 5 megapixel photos automatically in "Photo every 2 seconds" mode. Use as a hand held camera, too. Shockproof and waterproof to 100 feet/30 meters.

A waterproof case for the camera, five quick-release adhesive mounts and industrial strength suction cup are included. Suction cup is GoPro-approved for external high speed driving and riding, and is strong enough to pull dents out of a car door (unfortunately tested by GoPro). Adhesive mounts are removable but require purposeful removal by user. Safe on painted surface.

All you need is an SD Card and 2 AAA batteries and you're set!

    Ok we have enough people!
I'll pm the folks on the list but we're good to go on this special. Please contact us 267-335-4337 for payment info by early next week, so we can place an order for these and hopefully have them the following week.

    Thanks

I saw these on your website. Interesting.

How do they work on helmet or on a mount near the head-rests. How did the folks at the Dragon mount them up?

Does it include any type of software for control/editing or is it a simple transfer to your computer and tool of choice.

I might be interesting, if the pricing is aggressive.

Randy (M7) has one- you can see it [ame="http://www.motoringunderground.com/forum/showpost.php?p=406952&postcount=978"]here[/ame]...

Killboy (Dragon fame) has several videos recorded on his Vimeo page

Videos are saved in AVI format...

I saw their booth at SEMA and they have a mount for just about anything you can think of (anything!). (I also have a good interview w/ their Rep. but never got around to editing it.) Personally, I think they live up to the hype. :)

I played with Darryl Killboy's Go Pro when we went to Jamaica in January. It is really sweet! It took really great still pictures as well as movies. He took some cool underwater footage we we when scuba diving. I want a wide angle one really bad. The only drawback might be that it has no viewfinder, but you quickly get used to aiming without one.

All these still photos were taken with a Go Pro:

Ralphy's off today--still licking his wounds after a wee shunt in his Evo yesterday. He's okay (surprisingly cool for a car guy who just tagged his car), the car needs some love, so he'll be back tomorrow. We're looking to do pretty agressive pricing on these so we can buy at a good level, but not have a billion cameras in stock. We'll post soon...

Sorry to hear the car took a shunt. Ralph is ok?

I will keep an eye on the thread and see where you go with group buy pricing. :smile5:

The wide looks like a good option for a headrest mount on the passenger side in the R56.

I just got one of these for work. The camera is awesome. I'm using the wide version. The video below was made using the camera mounted in two spots with the suction mount. I had it just in front of the fuel door and on the upper corner of the windshield on the right side. The cockpit view is a different camera on a CruiseCam mount.

Nicely done. How much SD card did you use up on these runs? :)

Great clarity and editing, you merged 3 or 4 different sessions?

    Don,

    Sorry for the delayed response.
Like Irieman mentioned there are multiple ways to mount the camera. It comes with several mounts with adhesives, and also a heavy duty suction mount. They have additional accessories available to mount on a helmet, rolbar, even a chest mount harness.

The retail on the popular wide camera is $199. Lets get a count of who might be interested so I can see what smoking deal we can do on these.

Thanks for the compliment. I had two camera mounts and the video was made from two different runs. The GoPro Hero was mounted on the driver's side, just in front of the fuel door for one run and then again at the top of the windshield on the passenger side for a later run. The cockpit camera was on a CruiseCam mount and the camera was a Canon Powershot SX1 IS.

I had a 4GB SD card in the GoPro and had a total of 8 runs on the card with plenty of room to spare. Each run took about four minutes of video (actual runs were just over 60 seconds) because I turned it on while waiting in the grid before going to the starting line.

I put it all together in Final Cut Pro.

Yes back and well. Car's ok, just bolt on parts that need replacement Front bumper, hid headlight system, intercooler sprayer tank (evo 8). My girl talked me into coughing up the extra $$ and going with the evo 9 front bumper :D

    Awesome video guys!

We'll see what pricing we can come up with shortly on these cameras.
