I bought the GP Intercooler over a month ago from Mike@Mynes and I ordered the DDM GP IC Diverter from Way. While I was waiting for the brackets to arrive from Classic MINI for the past three weeks I went ahead and installed the GP IC along with my gauges and JCW CAI. The brackets for the GP IC arrived last night and I could finally install the DDM GP ICD that was sitting on my desk the past month.

The DDM GP ICD looks great on its own and looks even better mounted to my intercooler. I was amazed at how well the DDM ICD seals the space between the underside of the bonnet and the intercooler. Also I didn't need to trim the plastic on the underside of the bonnet/scoop. Here are some pics:

    Thanks Mike and Way!!!

That's great, and looks good. You should have let me know about the brackets, we include them with every GP intercooler so I always have them in stock.

Oh damn I didn't know that. UGH! You guys have everything over there. I am installing the X-Brace that you shipped out for me on Monday this weekend. With the 22mm rear sway, M7 STB and RCB, and R52 cross strut braces I would say my car will be super stiff.
    Thanks again Way.

Seems like the IC would come with the brackets. Crazy.

No the IC is one part number, the brackets have another part number, but need two of them. I also ordered the screws that hold the brackets down but didnt need them and just reused the screws I had.

The install looks good... you're gonna have one stiff mini :D

Way, isn't it ridiculous that BMW charge $20 for each one of those metal brackets for the rear?

JCC, the GP IC will work without the Diverter or the rear brackets. I've had quite a few customers who just want the bare IC. So rather than 'force' them to buy the rear brackets, i offer them as an option along with the GP diverter.

Mike, I didn't mind getting just the IC. Plus I was able to pick it up in person so it all worked out. Besides it gave me the opportunity to stretch out the joy of installation over several weeks.

I saw that you have an automatic as well. I also installed the GP intercooler and DDM diverter tonight. Clearance is very tight along the upper left corner of the rubber molding. In my opinion way to tight for when the motor moves during driving this is going to put stress on the hood. The metal piece that the rubber molding attaches to should be slightly smaller to accommodate for the automatic's engine sitting about 1 inch higher than the standards.

How about that GP intercooler, do you perceive a performance boost?

    +1 on this!

I am very serious about keeping charge temps down, learned my lesson with that working on turbo cars for so long. Its common sense really, lower temps = better power and reliability. Therefore I am SUPER interested in helping beat the heat for these little baby sized intercoolers. Any perceived changes or added performance is definitely a +1 question for me as well!

Also, I gotta know where you got those little "eyes" for the fenderwell plastic?
