Hi Nathan, Hi All! You will all think I am crazy but I just bought a 2003 basic mini (R50??) from a machinist in Florida and drove it to Maryland. It is being inspected (required in MD) as I type. ANY/ALL advice, etc. will be most welcomed... I still don't know what all the knobs & so forth are for....and I am told by the mechanic who is inspecting it right now that older (all?) minis have brake rotor issues because they are thin?? Thoughts? Also any recommendations as to where to get reasonably priced parts should I need them - THANKS!! I am an almost starving artist!!
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and friendly MINI Community. I moved this post out of a much longer thread and made it new thread since it has questions that would probably be lost. You can find downloadable Owners Manuals for your MINI in our Library. Owners Manuals - MINI Cooper 2002-2012 - Library Brake Rotors are not thin nut are like most German cars where when one changes the pads, one also changes the rotors. You can find both the OEM and alternative brake parts at almost all of the Motoring Alliance Sponsors. I'm sure there is something at one of of sponsors that will appeal to the starving artist salary. So... what kind of artist?
:cornut: You're not crazy, you're a miniac like the rest of us here at the MA asylum. We're glad that you're here. Jason
