So my 03, close to 110k miles, Justa standard seat backs are starting to rock back and forth. Is there a fix?

Anyone have any ideas? Or is this one of those things that make my MINI unique.

I don't know anything about that? Could you shim them with something?

I don't know, but could there be an adjustment someplace that has worked lose? Check with Orangecrush, as he took his seats all apart not to long ago.

I'm thinking Batrugger (Wes), did a thread on repairing the seat tilt mechanism. I remember the drilling out of the rivets that hold the assembly together and possibly replacing worn out metal bushings with new. Perhaps he'll chime in? I couldn't find it in the search of the M/A site. Maybe it was one of the ones lost during the great debacle??

There was a article in MC2 about seat repair, but I think that was the lever that moves the seat up and down.

I guess I could jam a cardboard box behind my seat:idea:

Yeah, that rings a bell. But I can't find it here, perhaps the virus infected sewing site has it, but I can't/won't go there.

No noise, at least I can't hear any over the Megan:lol:.

The seat back (drivers only) moves about 1/2 an inch, and I feel it mostly when braking. The Bentley manual shows how to take the seats apart, but not how to fix anything. Guess I'll just start taking things apart, unless someone has a set of 1st gen sport seats for sale.

I have a set of back seats avail.....that probably won't help you though. ;)

Good luck with the dis-assembly, maybe something just worked itself loose over time/miles.

    Heh, Heh, Heh.....
Yeah they make noise, but only when Mark is sitting in them, and the noise isn't coming from the seat either.:eek6:
