    04 MCS I'm going on 4 years.

Does anyone have a sound logical reason why this even works?!!??!

Has it stopped working for you?

Does the frequency of fonzi taps correlate to how soon the regulator will have to be replaced?

Still working for me, 2003 S going on four years. Only happens to me when temps are high and the sun is beating down on the driver's door.

What about when the window doesn't go back up the little bit after the door is closed?

What cause the problem in the first place is the armature in the motor is stuck, when you bang the door like that it jostles the armature and the motor starts working again....not too complicated.

These are DC motors with brushes, what causes the armature to sitck is dust from wear on the brushes. Banging on the door causes the armature to break loose again so it can turn. The only real fix is to either periodically clean the dust out of the motor, or replace it.

It's the same issue with the first gen power steering pump motors......
