The ForumRunner app for iOS and Android will be disabled om Motoring Alliance on 11/11/12. If you are a ForumRunner user then please migrate to TapaTalk. ForumRunner is being disabled for a multitude of reasons. 1. Very few people use it to connect to Motoring Alliance. 2. Since the purchase of ForumRunner by Internet Brands the support for sites outside of the Internet Brands umbrella has become non-existent. 3. Multiple parts of the ForumRunner app are broken, promises in the ForumRunner support area that fixes were being uploaded on Oct 4, 2012 have yet to be put in place. 4. On the back end the Notifications push feature servers have been down for independent sites. Only Internet Brands owned sites have been working, and then only intermittently. 5. There are other niggling issues with the app that are not being addressed. I'm disappointed with ForumRunner, I liked the app myself and used it more often than TapaTalk. It is unfortunate that once the company that created the app was purchased small, independent forum owners that supported the app from the beginning have been left in the cold.
I use Forumrunner on M/A and another site with no problems at all. Do you really have to shut it down? Jim
Jim, Since Internet Brands has purchased ForumRunner there has been no support outside of IB owned sites. There has been no development since May, when coincidentally, IB bought the company behind ForumRunner. Some of the issues I have been having... 1) You cannot send a message or reply to thread unless that message exceeds one line of text or a "carriage return" is used the send button disabled. 2) Similarly if you do not exceed one line of text or use a carriage return you will not be able to move the cursor for inline text correction. 3) After 6 lines of text any additional lines are not visible.
Now I know why my cursor wasn't responding..... Here I thought it was me and my fat fingers..... I have both apps so it's not that big an issue for me to switch back....
I've got both apps but have been using Forum Runner most the time. I'll migrate away from it starting with this post.
I liked ForumRunner. I found it had less issues for me than Tapatalk did. That said, I hate IB more as they continue to thumb their noses at the user community that pays their bills and keeps their lights on.
I'm having an issue with TapetyTalk. When I try to post a picture from my justaphone 4 I get a message that says the picture is not a valid image file. Anyone know what gives & how to fix it?
Just posted one in the forum test area with no problem. I see I need to update the How Do I... for adding an image via TapaTalk.
