SOLD: 2007 MINI Cooper Sidewalk Convertible - 1 owner, 25,699 mi.

It’s been a tough decision, and a long time coming, but we’ve decided that it is time to part with our 2007 MINI Cooper Sidewalk Convertible, or "Dougal", as he’s known to his friends. Dougal is Pepper White with a Blue convertible top and has the beautiful Malt Brown English leather seats that were unique to the special edition Sidewalks. The seats are the very feature that inspired us to choose the Sidewalk.

The reason for the sale is that we simply don’t get to drive the car enough. In the five years we’ve owned it, we’ve only put on 25,699 miles. Everyone knows MINIs are happiest when they are out on the road, so we decided it was time to pass the car onto someone else who will let him get out and stretch his legs more often than we are able to.

This has always been strictly a pleasure car, so it has never seen road salt, or been driven during winter at all.

    Features:
    1.6 L 4-cylinder engine - EPA: 26 mpg city / 35 mpg highway
    5-speed Getrag manual transmission
    Rear Fog Lamp

    Convenience Package:
    Universal garage door opener
    Auto dimming rearview mirror
    Rain sensing wipers
    Automatic headlights

    Cold weather Package:
    Heated seats
    Heated mirrors
    Heated washer nozzles

    Sidewalk Package:
    Malt Brown English leather upholstery
    Sport seats
    Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
    16†Bridge Spoke alloy wheels
    Cruise control w/multi-function steering wheel
    Sidewalk sport leather steering wheel
    Chrome line interior
    Center arm rest
    Front fog lamps
    Automatic air conditioning
    On-board computer
    Harmon/Kardon sound system
Sidewalk interior surfaces and graphics (door sills and sidewalk logo on exterior)

We purchased this car new in May 2007, drove it home, and immediately set about making some "you-ifications", which included painting the dashboard and downtubes Pepper White, as well as painting the dashboard trim rings a dark blue to match the convertible top. We did save the original Sidewalk dashboard pieces as they are unique to the Sidewalks and those pieces will go along with the car if you wish to put it back as it came from the factory. We replaced the grey plastic roll bar covers, which are standard on the Cooper convertibles, with the chrome roll bar covers that are standard on the Cooper S convertible. There is also a glovebox organizer, finished in dark blue and an Ian Cull auto-up window circuit. Last but certainly not least in the interior, I decided to replace the stock grey shifter and e-brake boots, with boots in a brown color to match the seats. To top them off, and unique to this car alone, I embroidered the Sidewalk logo onto the new e-brake boot.

On the exterior, we installed the front bumper and side skirts from the MINI Aero Kit, but as neither of us are especially fond of the aero kit’s rear bumper, we chose instead to install the rear bumper from a MINI Cooper S convertible. We also chose to maintain the standard chrome grilles rather than installing the black plastic aero kit grilles. The result is a nice balance of aggressive, yet classic looks. The front bumper and bonnet are both protected with paint protection film. Finally, we added driver’s edge stripes in a dark blue color, which also match the roof color.

Mechanically, we installed the rear sway bar from an S, just to firm up the handling a little bit and a pair of Craven Strut Tower Defenders to prevent any strut tower mushrooming. We also installed an aluminum skid plate to provide some protection below.

The car has been lovingly maintained. As the annual mileage has been pretty low, oil changes were done annually, regardless of mileage. Mechanically the car runs and drives well and has never caused us any trouble. It has a current NJ inspection, good until May 2014.

    Asking $16,500. SOLD!!!
    VIN: WMWRF33517TF66823
