In the running for October's MOTM was a MINI decked out in FUbrication decals, a GP style wing and other odds and ends. I google'd them last month and nothing showed up. This month there is a website and I've seen a few more people, mostly on M|U, with the wing. Anybody have an experience with their products? *Found photos of last month's entrant. Sorry, don't remember their SN.
This is the person you need to contact. Turns out he ended up creating a very nice GP wing. I believe he has a family connection with a fiberglass molding company located somewhere in the orient. He took order deposits and delivered on a set quantity. Didn't appear to have plans to make another run. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/gp/2604-gp-style-spoiler-wing-anyone.html
Guerrilla Marketing... Yeah, gotta love that. You'd think I extract blood to allow people to market and sell stuff. All I had asked was that when he was ready to sell these things that he made a contribution to the site, guess that was to much to ask.
Well..... That's pretty slimy of him.:mad5: Glad I still have all my money tucked away in that Nigerian bank. I'm sitting pretty.
yo nathan! I guess this is a miscommunication, i'm down to contribute! how much is it to become a vendor again? I'm sorry if it makes u feel uncomfortable! Let me know more details! We've been working on Porsche and BMW lately, any new idea for the MINIs?
Hi there! I'm glad you ask! So 5 months ago, I saw a post about GP spoiler on NAM. Originally it was posted in 2006. Everyone was talking about how GP spoiler can possibly be mounted to a regular MINI. All kinds of answers were flying around but none of them seem to be practical. Therefore, me, my buddies we redesign a GP style spoiler to prove that there's an answer for it. Our intention was not to make money of out of it obviously if you look at our pricing. We only make 25 of them that's why we weren't planning to be a vendor for long term. This I have to apologize to Nathan! He actually saved me from NAM. But since he mentioned about it, we will for sure contribute to the website. We do most of the stuff for Porsche and BMW if you are interested. We also take designs and ideas and manufacture them in high quality material!
I don't want to tell you how to run your web site, but most MINI suppliers have a legal disclaimer stating that they are not affiliated with MINI. MINI / BMW has been known to aggressively protect their LOGO and name with visits made by their legal department. Oh, and by the way your wing looks Fabulous. Hope you are successful.
if you're asking me.....forcing people to scroll on every page to see content/menus is bad web etiquette. With a standard portrait view 8.5x11, its two pages long in print view. that translates to about three pages vertically on a normal landscape view monitor. I scroll for news articles because there's content and that's how we read (i.e. newspapers). I shouldn't have to scroll for a website with one product listed for sale.
lol thanks for the advice, i guess once all the products are up it's probably gonna make you more dizzy surfing that website. i apologize for the bad website design. There's no computer engineer in our team though, a website like that done by people who don't know about computer science, i think it's pretty nice already. at least we didn't waste any money on that
Just food for thought: PGT is right, your site is hard to get around on. From the pictures, I had a hard time seeing what the wing really looked liked. You said at the start that it was only for looks and did not really function. In your first post there were 20 wings being made and now here seem to be 25. To be honest, I am not all that certain that you really have any wings for sale. This is just the feeling I get and nothing personal, but for me I see red flags going up all over the place. If you do have a good product, then I wish you the very best, but marketing is everything and you are a bit short there. Jim
Can't tell from looking at the FUbrication web site. Does the rear wing fit all MINI years or only certain models?
Marketing and the aesthetic appeal of a brand is never a "waste". It's one of the most important aspects of an online company, when your site is often the first, and strongest impression for the customers. With that said, very nice wing. I look forward to what you have in store for the MINI community
Wow that's a nice welcome.....not. :frown5: Almost makes me feel like I'm on a "different" Mini forum.
