I was sitting in the car this afternoon letting it warm up some and melting some of the snow off the back window. (Note to self, get Ice Scraper) The phone, an iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4 vibrated to notify me of something that could wait. But I looked anyway.

While playing around with the phone now I realized I'm always getting connected to the car's WiFi since I leave that WiFi thing plugged in all the time.

The phone stays in the pocket when driving. I can't hear it to speak to anyone and I'm certainly not coordinated enough to text and drive. I'd like to log a bunch of stuff all the time though and now and then toss the results on the PC and look for anomalies. I'm too lazy to dig into my pocket, turn on Dash Command and get it to log data.

This brings to the app: If This Then That aka IFTTT.

Anyone know if I can setup IFTTT to fire up Dash Command to log redefined data when the phone sees my in car WiFi network.

    Interesting thought.

I know of folks that have used an app called Tasker on Android to launch
    The Torque app.

Tasker can launch apps from using the GPS chip detecting motion greater than walking speed.

So, not sure if IFTTT can do similar stuff.
