How much is TOO much money for the DD and the resulting HP/Torque and MPG gained??

Does everyone go for the High end stuff.. because they feel "if it is THAT expensive" it has to be good??

IS Race car stuff really a good choice for my DD??

Will my home owners insurance cover my pool that collapsed in on its self do to all the rain we had , raising the water table up so high?? ( in ground . vinyl)

Is there a good 'in car' camera system out there so I dont have to adapt my camera to get good driving films??

HEY.. where are the hamburgers that I am going to cook this afternoon??? HONEY..............??

    Just asking.................................

Why do people buy expensive rims and put Wallmart tires on them for autocross?

Maybe not great but I have an app on my phone call Dailyroads voyager. It's a free one so give it a try. You decide how long each video is and how much space to allow for storage and it overwrites as needed. If you see something cool, tap the screen and the video is saved for good, it can also retain the video after a crash I have mine set to 3 Gs. It can also be used as time lapse photos.

As for questions what could happen if you spin out and don't push in the clutcu/have an auto? Does the engine simply stall or could it rotate backwards? How much damage could this cause?

Wen you can't put gas in the car, feed the kids and/or buy beer. When that happens, you have spent to much.

Depends, no clear answer here, to each their own.

    Call your insurance agent.

I thought this might be fun, but as I can see a few people decided to dump stuff in here that really doesn't fit.

The idea was to be light hearted and give a place for ya'll to post some AUTOMOTIVE based questions that you really wanted answered but maybe thought it was to stupid to ask. Instead I got the people that have to stick their nose into everything and twist it the wrong way cough Dave.0 cough.

The prize is that of knowledge...

    OK.. Nate for real..

How cold of a spark plug should I run with just a 15% increase in Boost??
And what brands are out there??
( I being a FORD guy I use the Autolite Brand, They are up and right with new tech, and in my experience work great )

EVEN Though the BMW says long mileage between oil changes.. should I change the oil more often if I jacked up the boost and push hard all the time in city traffic??

Is the 180* T-Stat a good thing or bad thing for performance?? Will the ECU throw CEL??

    Thanks.

Is there really any gain to using the hotter plugs that are out there? Remember that I have a justa when answering.

Yes, the gain is your $$$ into the seller's pocket. FWIW on your & my MINI the money is better spent on donuts. :donut1:

totally... not to much you can do on 1.6 ltr. There is a great camshaft ( NS1) and there is more power by changing the phase ( adjustED cam gear).. the rest is tune and basic exhaust. water-meth will keep the ECU friendly with hard hot drives when being pushed. Yet even with the above... you will be just over what the stock r53 puts out.

Ooops I missed the "Car" related part.

    Back more Automotive question.

What is more important good brakes or good tires on a track car "with turns" not a drag car.

Equally important in my opinion, but I will lean towards brakes. You can compensate somewhat at the expense of speed with bad tires, but bad brakes will get you in trouble quickly.

If guys buy Porsches because they're a bit small 'down there', does the process of buying a Porsche actually make anything shrink?

Why do people still think they have a secret compartment in the rocker in front of the rear wheel?

It's a bolt access hole for the real trailing arm bushing for aligment adjustments. Don't believe everything you read in the silly manual.
