I found the Microtell in Robinsonville comfortable last year and there were a number of other MINI folks there as well. BTW: Can I interest you in a cool Bowling Shirt from the M/A Store? Just four left, so you need to move on a couple now. Jim

There is a Chevron, ethanol free, gas station, right out side of town, on 129, you pass on your way to Deals Gap and also a restaurant in town that has great batter fried Catfish. Great news on the shirt. That will almost put us over the top to make the order. Jim
The Lady at the Nantahala Village said that there is another car group during that same week!!! so it will be crowded and booked up!! anyone, know what other car group? and how far the Nantahala Village is from the Fontana resort? I'm thinking about a cabin, but I don't want to be far from the action!!
It's probably the same group of Audi owners that is there this time of year every year. They tend to stay in the Alcoa TN area. Nantahala Village is very nice, cabins cut out of a hillside. Stayed there before. It's about 24 miles away and a real fun drive, that is unless it raining really hard. When I was there in 07 the roads were all dirt on the hill and steep. My lowered car could make it, the splitter did act like a dirt scoop though. Shut off the DSC before headed up the hill...
Just got off the phone with the folks at Fontana Village. The only thing they have open right now are a 'few' 3-BR cabins. But at least, they do have 'some' availability. -Jim
I just booked The Barn House with Carpenter Cabins (link below) for $100 per night! And they are only 5-10 mins from the Tail of the Dragon. They also have a 2br/2 bath cottage house for $110 per night. . sleeps 4-5 people. Someone better call Judy (under contacts) today and snag it!
