If you have extra space in your cabin or room post it here.

If you need to cancel you can transfer the reservation to someone, list that here.

If you are looking for a place to stay at MOTD post that here as well.

Consider this the MOTD Matchmaker sans the Yenta.

    I have a 2-bdrm, 2-bath cabin for MOTD 2012.

    I am looking for roomies!

The cabin has a full kitchen, fireplace, etc.

I will be taking the master bedroom since it has a separate bathroom.

The second bedroom has two beds and a full bathroom in the hallway.

Rate is $239.00 + tax and the "shared" price will be based on the number of people who share the cabin with me.

I am not opposed to having a co-ed cabin.

2 people total = 119.50 per person per night (plus tax)
3 people total = 79.67 per person per night (plus tax)
4 people total = 59.75 per person per night (plus tax)
    ...you get the idea

Please contact me via PM if you are interested.

We have our same room again in the lodge. I guess we'll have to park beside that Saturn Sky and Kitti mobile again!

Not sure any Fontana cabin could support (LITERALLY) 239 people inside at any given time.

No, but I bet they could support 239 donuts. However the 239 donuts would really lower the odds of 239 people!

Not to mention that the donuts would attract Crash, so makes it 240. :D

It could be the gravitational pull of the donuts would at least pull the MoM crowd in.

    Donuts! YUM!

A brand-new Krispy Kreme just opened down the street...one of these days I'll figure out exactly where it's located.

    Anyhow...MOMers are most certainly welcome!

I'm on a donut sabbatical when in the mountains. I only use donuts to decorate MINI's during that time. :donut1:

Greetings MINIacs! This is my first year going to the dragon so I'm late on the power curve for finding lodging. Good news is I got a call from the Historic Topoco Lodge this weekend and reserved one of their brand new (construction finishes this week) suites (it's the Calderwood Flat – not listed yet). The room has a hot tub and includes breakfast and five course dinners during the stay for $269/night. The problem is it’s out of my budget. I’m in the search for something more economical, which means if I do I can transfer my reservation to someone else.

For anyone else in the same situation, I’ve found a cabin that is 30 minutes from Fontana Village (approx. 5 minutes further than Microtel based on Google Maps). This cabin can accommodate 14 people (possible more with air mattresses and couch crashers). The price for Wed – Sun reservation is $1781.00. That would end up being ~$127/person (not per night.. oops). I’ve attached a few photos, but here’s the description.

PM me if your interested. Thanks!

Brand New home in 2008. This home has all the amenities, appliance, and comfort one would expect in a modern well appointed home. Professionally decorated with attention to the small details, with the functionality of a mountain lodge. Post and beam construction with cathedral ceilings gives this home the warmth of a Western Canada hunting lodge.

The great room features a 25' tall grand fireplace, cathedral ceiling with a walk around balcony overlooking great room. Massive picture windows overlook the mountains. Outside, over 1500 sf of decks and balconies overlook the mountains in all directions. Perfect mountaintop views of the Great Smokey National Park and Clingman's Dome (hightest point in Eastern US). At night the decks offer a stunning star studded panorama, or place to relax in the jacuzzi, under the stars.

Home features master bedroom with queen bed, reading chair, private bath with oversize soaking tub, shower, and full cedar walk in closet. Second bedroom has a queen bed. Third bedroom has a queen bed. Loft- two queen beds, full bathroom, fireplace, sitting room, and two upper balcony decks. 5th bedroom sleeps 3 on a double futon bunk bed. Basement has pool and ping/pong. (This is a non smoking home, no pets, allergen free home)

    Features:
Jacuzzi, Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, Indoor Fireplace, Outside firepit, and more!

I've received all PMs...putting them in chronological order based on timestamp sent...

Of those who replied, it looks like there's a total of 3 couples, 1 single male and myself.

If people don't mind using air-mattresses/cots/sleeping bags in the rooms, the breakdown would be $119.50 + applicable taxes (per person) for Wed-Sat, with Sunday checkout.

This would be the price regardless of whether you check-in on Wed or Thurs simply because the space would be reserved for you.

We're all adults, but for anyone who has never stayed in one of the Fontana cabins (and especially for those of you who have...) believe me when I say that the rooms are not sound-proof...and some of the cabins that are "duplex-style"...well, the ENTIRE structure has a tendency to, um, "wiggle". :blush2:

I can accept reservation payments via Paypal (including PP fees).

This cabin is not far from the "Stonehedge Firepit" and IS located in Fontana Village, so it's well within walking (or stumbling :beer) distance of all on-site festivities.

If you have previously sent me a PM and you're still interested, please send me another PM. Likewise, if you've changed your mind, please send me a PM to let me know as well.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone & having a grand time.
