I had a Craven Speed flexpod in my R53 that bolted into the back of my Tach. I loved where it sat, until the attachment bolts stripped out the plastic in the tach and it fell out.

Looking for an non-Tach mounted solution (also possibly an idea on how to fix my Tach...can I tap bigger holes in the plastic mounts?). Ideas?

Note I have a Kuda dashboard mount for my iPhone. I've considered cutting a piece of thick aluminum about 6 inches long and drilling mounting hole locations at each end, attach it to the Kuda dash mount, and attach both the GPA and the iPhone to a single mount. Thoughts?

I suction cup mount my Garmin to the speedo. Not very elegant, but it works for me.

Hmmm... I've tried that a few times, but it never sticks for more than 5 minutes.

A few years ago, I built a "CB" mic holder (actually for a VHF/FRS radio I've got installed in dash). It sits down near the radio, using the front facing radio mount screws (behind the oval down-tube). Maybe one of these pics will inspire a solution (just be careful to set the bracket low enough that you can still get a CD in and out of the radio).

First.....try using a bit of silicone on the screw to the tach. It will set up and hold good and you can still get it out w/o any problems. In fact I would guess that it would hold up just fine with the GPS on it.

Have you called CravenSpeed about this? They may have a better fix than that.

Perhaps also you could fill the hole w/ JB Weld, re-drill and use tapping screws (or tap it by hand).

I bet I can help with this. We probably have some longer or even more coarse screws you can use, and we don't charge anything for stuff like that. Your CravenSpeed parts should work for as long as you drive your MINI, which is the same as saying forever right? Just PM me and we'll figure out what we can do.
