Hello M/A, I am brand new to the Mini world, since I just purchased a 2005 MCS this past week. I love it and I can't wait to drive it more! I am from NJ and I look forward to learning as much as I can about these awesome cars. My Mini seems to be a very basic S model with an aftermarket exhaust on it already. I will be crawling underneath tomorrow to see if I can find out what brand it is. Hopefully I can make it out to some meets and drives soon!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Hopefully you don't mind some newbie questions, after I use the search button.
......and we won't tell you to use the Search Button no matter how many times the question has been asked. Welcome to the addiction!
Welcome to the coolest MINI forum on the net........... Don't be scared to show off that MINI.....We love pictures ..:cornut:
The only picture I have of my MINI so far. I will be replacing the belt in the spring, so I can read up on which pulley to swap out at the same time. :biggrin5:
No need to use "search" button here. :nonod: We are all here to help out anyway we can and we don't just tell people to do a search. FYI is you are getting a pulley and are near Philly call Eric the owner of Helix. (267) 335-4337 All you really need is a 15% pulley. http://store.helix13.com/mini-cooper-performance-parts/
Thanks! I am not too far away from Philly, maybe 40 minutes or so? I will certainly look into Helix. Do you recommend their other products as well, CAI, etc?
Yup and Eric stands behind everything he sells and won't sell you stuff you don't need. FYI~ Eric personally built my car with RMW (Revolution Mini Works) and Helix parts at his shop. I have a the below Helix parts on my car: 15% Pulley Short Shift kit Rear lower adjustable control arms Front adjustable camber plates He also installed my Howerton Aquamist Methanol Injection System. I had him install a DDM intake on my MINI only because I like an intake with a cover on it and at the time the Helix one did not come with a cover and it sealed to the underside of the hood when closed. I have been a very happy customer for over 7+ years now and he is the only shop I go to since I am very picky person. All I ever do on my own is oil changes at my buddy shop and wash and wax my car.:devil: Eric has also done everything else to my car Suspension, brakes, Crank Damper, Exhaust, on and on ect. I trust him 100% with all my mods. He also has a Mustang dyno in house and Dyno'ed my car when Jan from RMW did a custom tune on my car. I even have him go over everything in the Spring before our MOTD trip.
Thanks Dave, I will certainly look into Helix and it's nice to know he has an in house dyno. And since everyone loves pics, here's my MINI sitting in the parking lot after driving home in the snow today.
