To My Democratic Friends: Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011 but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thanks Nate. I somehow recall seeing ad for one of his programs. I always wish he'd entered politics, but that's a whole different thread
Hah..... Yeah, I know.... Knew I messed up right after I hit the send button..... Found out I can't edit a header.
I'm pretty sure if you go through the Advanced button that you can edit even the title. Not that it matters. Doesn't take away from your well wishes
Thanks Nathan.... Yeah, that thread was created through Tapatalk, and doesn't have all the same edit features.
Here's some Eugene holiday cheer for you. Even us liberal heathens know how to celebrate the holidays [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj4mu14DI9I]YouTube - Christmas Lights[/ame]
On Christmas day 1864, after a 3 year period of experiencing immense personal tragedy, Longfellow wrote the poem "Christmas Bells". The first couple of stanzas seem to be stirring up his memories of a sweeter time. Then the next three reflect the despair of his personal tragedies intermixed with the war. But then..........the last stanza! Then pealed the bells more loud and deep; "God is not dead, nor doth He sleep; The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With Peace on earth, good will to men." And so my fellow MINIers (is that a word?), during this time of war and with our own personal tragedies I, too, wish you all a: Merry Christmas! And, may the Prince of Peace grant you His peace! ....Les

I am not as clever as some of our friends either Democrat or Republican who have already posted on this subject. I just want to say I hope everyone is with friends and family and can share the joy and love Christmas represents to me. Happy New Year.
