Sorry if this has been asked before. I did do a brief search and did not find the answers I was looking for.

I am looking to install Jan's 'Jesus' Head and Cam. I am trying to find a suitable header. Jan only does Race ones now. I have a Milltek Cat Back exhaust. Main use will be road with the very occasional track day, so I need to keep the Cat installed. Recommendations?

I thought Jan had developed a "Street" header with a cat on it. I really recommend going with what he's designed since he kinda engineered each part to complement the other.

Really? No more RMW street headers? Hmmm. I love mine. Guess he got tired of being the in the cat-and-flex-joint-replacement business.

Mynes? Similar design to the RMW, but with some extra features.

My understanding is that Mynes isn't making headers either

If those two options are out, just go for the race header..

I like mine, but then again, mine does leak after being taken on and off a few too many times. Should be a quick and easy fix here in the near future, but I can't say I recommend it 100% for that reason..

Hmm. So many things happen when you step away from the Mini world for say... two or three months!

I will say this. That's one way to reduce the headaches with the broken joints/engine codes/etc.

I'm still having Mynes tell me that the original header will do better for torque then Jan's down low.

Of course, it'll be on my own dime to swap them and dyno them to see if it rings true or not.

Gah. Back to Long Beach for RMW street header number three tomorrow!!!

The mynes header is very good and a bit louder then the RMW. The two piece design is great and the V-band allows you to swap out the Cat Vs No Cat for the track. The Mynes is 2 piece make installing it a bresze.

Neither one of them drone on the highway at all. If you go WOT you can hear the difference. Yes I have both and have had them both. I have had both installed and they both are good headers. I believe both are still available.

The RMW code / CAT problem has been fixed and I do not mean using a J-bung. I am code free and Jan repaced my header at N/C and I received a new header with a completely different designed CAT.

I switch them out depending on the season and mood I am in.:eek:ut:

Mynes might not be available since they are out of shop doing the MINI tour

I have an RMW street header and am very pleased with it. It is a very high quality item. You can sometimes find them for sale pre-owned, if for example, someone is moving to the race header, or are parting out all of their mods and selling their MINI.

    Good Luck

I actually got the very last Mynes header. It is the street version. Im sure if you called, they would custom make one for you. I really love it

No, it aint quiet, but it looks cool and sounds mean.
So, the race header is just that right, header only with much longer primaries? So, I guess you would have a cat first then a resonator in the mid section.

So with the RMW and Mynes street headers no longer available, what is a good choice of a street header? I also have a Milltek cat-back like the original post.

Milltek header? Nicest looking one I've seen that wasn't mynes or RMW...

Agreed - it ain't RMW/Mynes. But better than OBX IMHO.

But there are reasons I bought an RMW and not a Milltek. :)

while my RMW was back for a rebuild (it was welded all wrong and hit the heatshields and ruined the O2 sensor), I picked up a used Milltek and JCW exhaust. I was considering selling the RMW parts b/c I had so many issues and I was getting an attitude from Jan about it (as if I caused his elderly fabricator to get it wrong  ). I looked at the size of the ports on the Milltek and they were no different than stock.

Had a bit of luck! Jan came up with a nearly new street header he's reconditioned for me!
