I am going to redo my head liner. I called an upholstery shop to see if they sold headlined fabric. He told me no and where to buy it. Then said he would be in my part of town and come by the house and redo the the liner for $80 if I took out the headliner board and put it back in myself. I called the fabric shop and they sale the liner for $15 a square yard and the glue for $19.99.
So it looks like about $60 in parts to do it myself or $80 he does the work that includes the fabric.

Has anyone done this? Is it hard to do, is it worth $20 to let him do it?

He said as long as I called in a few hours he could come today.

$80 for the professional, with the same or comparable material.:yesnod:

His glue might be better, and he's used to working with the material/large pieces so less chance for wrinkles, frustration, peeling edges in the future, etc. Plus, if you mess up your material you have to buy more. If he does, it should still be $80 for the job.

Biggest PITA is dropping the headliner. Which he is putting on you... so why not pay for the peace of mind on the fabric portion.

Do they sell headliner fabric without the foam backing? Sure the foam makes it soft to the touch and it sits nice on the headliner board, but it's sure to disintegrate just like the OEM stuff does.

For those of us who are holding on to our cars and don't want to have to install another new headliner in the coming years, is there a better solution?

Mine is starting to drop too. Might be time to go with that alcantara I've always wanted.

Got the head liner out. Your right what a PIA that was. Now I am thinking, the only stock speakers are the 6X9 rear speakers. I may just change them.

The guy did a good job on the fabric, it was worth paying him. I did not do the speakers I did not have time to go pick some up.

    Thanks everyone for the help!
