Just purchased my 06 new to me Mini S, Pepper White with gray leather and an automatic...... I know, but sorry tired of shifting gears. Sold my SRT-4 and decided it was time to give in. Been wanting one for a while. Had hoped to fine a local Mini club in my area but the closest on is about a hundred miles from me. May see if there is any interest in starting one here the Tri-Cities (Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City) I'm an older owner but a certified car nut from waaaaaaay back. Into hot rods, sports cars, drag racing, rat rods, and the like, if it has four wheels and fast it has to be cool. Other hobbies include photography, Siberian Husky's, and Grandkids, not in that order...Lol Hope to make some mods to the Mini as time passes but only had the car about 10 days, but have ordered a front splitter and some parts for general maintenence, you never know if it has been done. Hope to learn a lot and have even more fun........ Tail of the Dragon here I come!!!
Welcome to M/A! Great choice...an R53...ya just cannot go wrong with them! I have 2 with the auto...one is unmodded for my wife and mine is modded for the track and Dragon worthy.
:cornut: Welcome to MA from a 60yo Texan. I lived in TN when station at Ft Campbell, KY(for the uninitiated, most of Ft Campbell is in TN but as the Post Office is just over the line in KY, well.............................). Don't worry about the age thing, we have some 70yo's around here. Auto vs Manual to each his own. Jason
Hello and welcome from one of the folks that is in the Knoxville club. You just missed a couple of us going up there for the rallycross race at Bristol Bristol Speedway Global RallyCross event - a set on Flickr. We always do a drive to the Speedway in Lights as well, so definitely keep in touch with the Smoky Mountain Mini Cooper Club, even if we are too far away to justify joining. Look forwards to seeing you out on the roads, Alan in the blue 66 Traveller.
Welcome! I had an '06 S with the automatic - started out as my wife's car. I prefer rowing my own but that Aisin 6-speed auto wasn't much of a compromise, honestly. Congrats on the MINI, you're going to love it.
