    Happy New Year All!

I own a '10 Mini Clubman, manual 6, and am about to become a proud teardrop camper owner which will go well with my Mini. I have been grappling with the tow weight issue and noticed several variations on this theme.

If anyone has any concrete (not to add to the teardrop..) advice, I would very much appreciate it. My manual quoted 815 # max towing capacity... but then I've seen other data as well.

Anyway, glad to be here. Love my Mini ~

    Thanks for your inputs!

    Robin

Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community.

Where in Baltimore? I was was born and raised there, pretty much lived there for 40 some years.

One of the moderators here, lotsie, has a teardrop. Send him a Private Message and ask him to respond.

    Welcome RockinRobin2!

850 sounds about right, although I know Russ who owns MINIFini tows way more than that when he hauls stuff to do installs at different MINI events around the country. Our trailer weighs in at about 650 lbs. with another 100 or so in gear. Our hitch weight is about 80 lbs with the trailer loaded.

Our 08 Clubman S pulls ours no problem, don't really know it's there unless I look in the rear-view.

    What teardrop do you tow?

    Mark,

Thanks for responding! Glad to hear that my caution is verified. There was one amazing teardrop weighing in at 1100# that I so wanted, but that might be a bit over the top (definitely a loaded camper ~ you name it he has it).

So, what do you tow? Does it have a galley?

    thanks again,

    Robin

Nathan, I live in Baltimore at Catonsville. Great little old neighborhood with craftsmen homes from the 1920's. Where were you living when here? Where are you now?

    Thanks for the welcome!
