Well, it's finally happening! I have wanted a MINI for freakin' evah. Of course, real life says, "No, you have more important things, adult things, that you need to responsibly spend your money on." Well Phooey. A few years ago, I put my house in Maine up for sale and moved to the west coast. The deal I made with myself was that when my Maine house (which I built with my own paws and which is deeply missed) sold, my consolation prize would be a MCS. The house is in contract. We ordered on August 9th. Today ASKMINI says it's in the paint shop. Almost there! Of course, getting it from there to here takes a year and a day, but YIPPEE any. :biggrin5: I saw someone's sig on here with something very close to my car. Spice orange with a white top and stripes. Who is that?
Welcome! To quote someone wiser than I... Once you drive a MINI for the first time, you fall into only one of two categories: Someone who owns a MINI Someone who wishes they owned a MINI Congrats on making the transition from the latter to the former :cornut:
Welcome to the forum and excitement of Mini ownership. Where in California are you moving to? Check out the MA clubs section to find a club near your new location.
We're in Oakland, CA. I've lived here for three years. Moved here to be with the boyfriend. Maine, where I came from, doesn't have very many MINIs. There's not even a MINI dealer (or there wasn't when I left)! So I only ever saw them occasionally...which was always a thrill. There was one grey one with black stripes I would see going the opposite direction every evening when I drove home from work. We were on the same schedule. It was like seeing a friend every day. California has tons of MINIS, and a bunch of dealerships (so I got to shop around and play the "who can give me the best deal" game...which was very fun). BF and I always point out any MINI we see, discuss color, how old it is, if it's justa or an S etc...It's fun but a total tease.
Hey there and welcome to M/A. Waiting for the MINI is kinda like seeing your birthday presents but not being allowed to open them just yet.....
Welcome! I lived in SoCal for 25 years. Bought my '06 R53 out here near Motown. I love living here but wish I could drive it on all this great roads out there. Enjoy and welcome to the club! Motor On! Chris
