    Hello everyone. I recently purchased my first mini, a 2007 jcw with 50,000 miles. The car looks and runs fantastic. My question is about the timing chain tensioner issue. I haven't noticed any rattle. Should I install the new tensioner anyway? Reading all the posts about it has made me paranoid. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    I'd pop by the local dealer and have them check the VIN to see if there has been any work done in that area.

    What Nathan said.....check with the dealer. If it hasn't been addressed I would have a chat with the SA at the dealer and see about getting it checked out.
