Hi I may be going to a autox tomorrow and need some advice. I have have Eibach Springs, and Koni 3 way adjustable shocks with Falkan E912 215/40. Does anyone have any advice on how stiff I should make the front vs the rear and a good tire pressure to start with. Thanks
Never driven those tires, but 36-38 psi cold is a safe bet. Chalk your tires, if they roll over a lot add a couple more psi. Aside from that, if it's your first autox it won't really matter what you do with the shocks.
Along time ago I use to autox a Fiat X1/9. But that was a life time ago. I have only autox my MINI a few times that was over a year ago, and I did not mess with the shocks. This is a BMW vs MINI event and I'm looking for any advantage I can get. I know the biggest problem is the loose nut behind the wheel. :arf: Thanks
Stiffen the rear up so the car rotates a little faster. Otherwise I'd make a run, or two and adjust from there.
front soft, rear firm on the shocks. Tire pressures to start: 40 front, 52 rear. Sometimes 40 front, 32 rear depending on tire characteristics, but usually the higher rear will allow more rotation. Try both, but do at least 3 runs each before changing.
