    Picnic bench? No, but it reminds me a little of the tailgate on my Honda Element. The lower gate is shorter than the part that flips up, so you have something flat and sturdy to sit on without getting rained on...as much.

    But this looks more like something you'd put down before telling your dogs to load up in the back.

    Looks like some BMW engineers had too much time on their hands. At least this thing is a bit more functional than the Openometer. :frown2:
