Hi Everyone! Just got my mini a few days ago. Have been perusing this site, and have found interesting stuff. I bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S convertible, w/navigation, auto trans.. British racing green. Its a beauty !! Not sure if I have a gen 1 or gen 2 mini. I am very new to mini's . Not sure if I have a R53 ??? Don't know how to find that out .. I mainly got interested in mini's because of their "look" , not their mechanical ability. My cooper is pretty fast though !! 1. It is missing about 3 plastic clips for the black molding over the driver side wheel well (top, not side molding), will pick them up from the dealer (.80) not bad. The molding is there. 2. Plus the glove box is broke and tie wrapped closed (which I hear from this forum is somewhat common ) So am looking for a replacment glove box if anyone has a thread I can look for one on. The dealer may be pretty expensive for that.. 3. The weatherstripping molding on the passenger side top is loose, not sure what to use to secure that in place. 4. The speaker cover (passenger bottom speaker) came off because the "clips" were broke, but I super glued it back on. No biggie. 5. Where to find the upgraded dvd for the navigation system ? went on navteq web site and it claims they don't make them for the mini's anymore ?? Other than that I don't see any other issues.. Breaks feel great. The engine was very very clean, and the car had been maintained as far as detailing goes. Getting an oil change at the dealer wedn. in addition to the 20 point vehicle inspection by the dealer. I think they said 20 point, but you know what I am talking about. They are going to give it a onceover to see if I need anything else. anyway, thanks for reading, I'll be doing much more reading on this site this weekend...
Welcome to the FUN!!! I think technically you have a Gen 1 car as the Gen 2's did come out in 2007 BUT the Cabrio models didn't switch over for another year or so. You should have a supercharger which is Gen 1 and Turbo is Gen 2 on the "S" cars...
Hi, Yes it does have a supercharger I LOVE this car !!! Just trying to understand all the terms, and what I have. I didn't get this from a mini dealership, so they didn't seem to know too much themselves..

Welcome aboard. Fine looking machine! Finding out more about your MINI...RealOEM.com is very useful IMO. Just put the last 7 digits of your VIN in and you can find out plenty.
